Russell Taylor Holdings Tops Recruiter Fast 50 For a Second Year

RUSSELL TAYLOR HOLDINGS has been named as the UK’s fastest-growing privately-owned recruitment company 2 years on the run, topping the Recruiter FAST50 list once again.
The newly Burton Manor-headquartered recruiter has topped the 2020 FAST 50 list announced by leading industry media outlet Recruiter and compiled from detailed analysis by a major global finance house.
This research by Clearwater International reveals that Russell Taylor Holdings, originally set up as a father and son operation in Wirral and now with a multi-million pound turnover with a huge staffing headcount and growing, has achieved a compound annual revenue growth rate of 130.9 per cent over the three financial years ending December 2018. However, its outstanding success in driving this growth has been attributed to two vital factors – its family values and workplace culture.
Chief executive Ben Russell said: “The past couple of years have undoubtedly been the most challenging in our history as well as moving our entire HQ to new premises and opening new offices across the country, we have constantly stuck to our ideals centred on everything we believe in as a family-run business.
“The vision myself, my Dad Peter and wife Claire had of running a reputable recruitment company staffed by a happy and fulfilled workforce, giving incomparable service, and committed to the local community, has never wavered. In fact, this has become more apparent since our office move and the business has never been more community focussed.
“We are immensely proud that our small recruitment business that was set up in 2005 is now turning over figures we could only dream of, to now topping the FAST 50 list 2 years running.”
Russell Taylor Holdings, whose head office is newly based in Burton Manor in Cheshire, has subsidiary companies of Russell Taylor Group, Recruit Right and NMS Recruit, spanning a range of sectors covering engineering, construction, industrial, manufacturing, scientific, commercial, telecoms, transport, logistics and distribution.
The group employs 400+ staff and Ben will continue to grow his empire and says he is confident that revenue will rise to a projected £150m for 2020, having achieved £133m sales in 2019.
Describing the reasons for the success of the business, Ben continued: “A lot of our success is because we are a family business rather than corporate. It is a family mentality rather than a very faceless corporate structure.
“The beauty of having lots separate companies and brands within one group, rather than one enormous company is that we can afford to be a little bit less corporate.”
The companies in group have the lowest staffing turnover rate to date and as to why staff stay, Ben says it is simply down to treating them well: “We pay well, we bonus well, we develop and train, we support staff and we treat them like adults.”
Ben is a great believer in work-based learning as a way of developing people’s careers, favouring a grow-from-within approach. The company also runs apprenticeships across its various businesses, providing a source of “fantastic candidates” with many going on to become linchpins of the business. Russell Taylor Group are extremely proud to have supported more than 50 apprentices to date.
The UK recruitment market is the largest in Europe, with around 39,000 recruitment agencies operating in the country.
