RUSSELL Taylor Group is taking further steps to set young people on the road to successful careers with its support for the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Young Chamber programme.
As a sponsor of the initiative, the business will help to give students at local schools and colleges the experience and skills needed to prosper in the world of work.
Launched in 2017, the Young Chamber programme currently supports 14 schools and two colleges across West Cheshire and North Wales.
A keen champion of developing and nurturing young talent in his own organisation and within the communities it serves, Peter Russell, chairman of Russell Taylor Holdings Ltd, parent company of Russell Taylor Group, said: “Coaching and mentoring by members of the business community is vital to setting young people on the right road to their ideal careers. Providing insights, guidance and support is so vital in today’s complex world of work.
“Our companies place huge importance on strong partnerships and collaboration between employers and talent providers to create an engaged and suitably skilled workforce for the future. Initiatives such as hands-on work placements are necessary to build the skills and experience they need to prepare them to be eligible for the world of work.
“I look forward to meeting young people who are involved in Young Chamber, to hear about their hopes and dreams for the future and help guide them into successful careers.”
Peter and the Russell Taylor Group team will now engage with students via a series of events and projects including career fairs, enterprise projects and interview days.
Debbie Bryce, chief executive officer at West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce, pictured with Peter outside Russell Taylor Holdings’ headquarters at Burton Manor, said: “We are so pleased that another leading business from the West Cheshire and North Wales region has pledged its support to our Young Chamber programme.
“Peter’s knowledge and experience, along with that of his employees, will undoubtedly help students develop essential skills needed when they enter the world of work.”
