RUSSELL Taylor Group has appointed Daniel Flack as regional trades manager for its London and South of England operations to help drive the business’ growth strategy and develop the company brand in new markets.

His main focus will be on the delivery of a complete construction trades workforce to service major current and planned building projects in and around the capital.

Of his new role based at Russell Taylor’s London office, he said: “Creating a full construction package is top of our agenda, expanding our current highly successful electrical and mechanical operational sectors.

“Sectors we’ll be developing include demolition, asbestos removal and ground works, supplying a highly-skilled construction workforce to our clients.”

Daniel, 32, brings to the Russell Taylor Group management team a 10-year background in sales and recruitment along with on-site construction experience.

He continued: “I’ve seen all aspects of the construction industry and can now use all my knowledge and skills to grow Russell Taylor Group’s markets and supply specialist teams for major commercial building programmes across London and the South of England.

“A constant supply of skilled trades is crucial in these challenging times for the economy and it’s this provision of a pipeline of construction talent which can offer real solutions to the nationwide problem of plugging skills gaps.

“London’s builders are still being affected by the lack of skilled trades people. However, there’s a whole range of employment opportunities in the capital for construction skills – for bricklayers, joiners, carpenters, scaffolders and labourers – to contribute to an upturn in the industry.”

Rob Kurton, managing director at Russell Taylor Group who is based at the company’s national headquarters in Bromborough, said: “Our new satellite office in London puts us in prime position to deliver a construction trades workforce to service major projects in the capital and the rest of the South of England.

“Dan is an integral part of this operation and, with his successful background in recruitment and as someone who has actually worked in construction himself, has a huge role to play in making sure our clients are equipped with a highly skilled labour force to see their projects come to fruition.”

Russell Taylor Group’s London office has expanded the business’ portfolio of companies, adding to its Manchester base, where the city’s building boom continues to open up the jobs market in construction trades, and its Liverpool office where a £5 billion waterfront development site is currently benefiting the structure and economy of Liverpool City Region.
