Salary: Up to £48,000 depending on experience
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Product Development Scientist (SPDS) to lead and drive both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects. This hands-on role will involve leading the development process from concept to product launch while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead NPD and EPD projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
• Stay ahead of industry trends by attending events both in the UK and overseas (next one is Barcelona in May) and researching new ingredients, technologies, and packaging options.
• Develop and manage clinical trials, including protocol creation, execution, and data analysis.
• Support technical advisors and sales teams through technical expertise and presentations.
• Oversee the creation and testing of new products in the R&D laboratory, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage the technical transfer of projects into manufacturing, driving efficiencies and cost savings across the process.
• Provide technical support for QA/QC investigations and collaborate with procurement teams for supplier engagement.
• Coach and mentor junior R&D staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree (min. 2.1) in a Science-based subject, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in product development.
• Strong research, project management, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication abilities with the capacity to present complex data to diverse audiences.

Occasional Duties:
• Travel to other sites or international locations may be required.
