We are seeking a skilled Environmentally focused Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor
The ideal candidate will be responsible for advising and assisting in the management of environmental, health, and safety responsibilities.
This role requires a strong understanding of environmental compliance, sustainability, and health and safety best practices.
Responsibilities (some can be taught)
• Formalising and adding process and procedure to maintain ISO14001 accreditation.
• Acting as a key advisor for environmental and sustainability initiatives.
• Conducting internal training on EHS topics and maintaining training records.
• Managing the environmental management system to ISO14001 standards.
• Monitoring waste, energy, water, and emissions, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting internal HSE auditing, conducting audits, and recommending corrective actions.
• Conducting Duty of Care audits on environmental suppliers and maintaining records.
• Responding to customer and regulatory requests for environmental and sustainability data.
• Developing methods for carbon footprinting and monitoring Scope 1-3 emissions.
• Maintaining the environmental legal register to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Communicating environmental and sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting the HSE Manager in implementing ISO 45001 to improve health and safety standards.
• Liaising with suppliers on environmental matters and promoting sustainability best practices.
Technical Skills and Capabilities:
• Degree educated in an environmental discipline (or equivalent professional qualification) with at least one year of experience in an environmental compliance role - not essential but desirable
• Strong knowledge of ISO14001 principles and environmental management systems.
• Holding a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification (desirable)
• ISO Internal Auditor training/experience is desirable.
• Ability to deliver training and provide clear guidance on environmental and health and safety matters.
• Membership with IEMA/IOSH is desirable.
